Astm sheet metal specifications

The first requirement for compliance with ASTM C645 in the manufacture of light-gauge, non-structural steel studs is for the steel coil to comply with ASTM A1003, which specifies the mandatory physical properties of the steel sheet used to manufacture the studs. It specifies that the yield strength of the material must be at least 33ksi. Sheet Metal Guage Tolerances. During the rolling process the rollers bow slightly, which results in the sheets being thinner on the edges. The tolerances in the table and attachments reflect current manufacturing practices and commercial standards and are not representative of the Manufacturer's Standard Gauge, which has no inherent tolerances. As an end-to-end American sheet metal fabrication, finishing and integration leader, EVS Metal is proud to operate two International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)-registered manufacturing facilities: Keene, New Hampshire and Pflugerville, Texas, just outside of Austin. ASTM Specifications ASTM Designation A924 outlines the general requirements for carbon steel sheet metal coated by the hot‐dipped process. A924 designates tolerances for thickness, width, camber, shape, etc. Hot-dip galvanizing is done in accordance with long established ASTM specifications. There are three main specifications (ASTM A123, A153, and A767) governing the coating thickness, adherence, and finish for hot-dip galvanized steel and a handful of supporting specifications referenced in these specifications cover design practices, repair and touch-up, and painting/powder coating over ...
